Project experience — from conveyors to integrated material handling

Over more than 10 years, I have worked on a wide range of industrial automation projects. Most involved material handling systems, and most were delivered abroad.

In detail

Selected project examples

These three Lithuanian projects illustrate different assignments within my broader experience. Each case explains my personal responsibility, technical solutions and the scope delivered by other suppliers.

Professional experience

A strong project background in material handling.

Conveyors, buffering, tray handling and servo machinery — from individual machines to tens of interconnected PLCs. Programming, integration and commissioning across Europe and North America. This international professional experience was gained through employers and engineering companies; it is not presented as a list of direct iAutomation clients.

Conveyors & transfer mechanisms

Single- and multiple-position roller, belt and chain conveyors. Transfer, turning, flipping and lifting devices integrated into complete material transport systems.

Accumulation, buffering & tray handling

Accumulation conveyors, buffer belts and buffering/debuffering units. Traying and detraying machines, tray stackers and coordinated product handling.

Palletizing & servo machinery

Palletizers, depalletizers, film wrapping units and semi-automatic stacking/destacking machines. PLC-controlled servo mechanisms with coordinated motion.

Tracking & higher-level interfaces

Place-to-place and window-based product tracking, FIFO logic and MFS interfaces. Integration with scanners, cameras, dimensioning units and third-party equipment.

Controls & system scale

From one PLC to tens of interconnected controllers. Siemens S7-300, S7-1200 and S7-1500; PLC/HMI software, drives, functional safety, PROFINET, PROFIBUS and TCP/IP communication.

Commissioning & responsibility

Software architecture, existing-code takeover, equipment integration, testing and commissioning. Projects in manufacturing, food production, warehousing and e-commerce/retail distribution across Europe and North America.

Robotics experience here means PLC-controlled servo/mechatronic machinery, not conventional six-axis industrial robot programming. Historical commissioning assignments lasted up to approximately three months; current travel is agreed separately.
